Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This policy explains what data PDF Tools Suite collects, why, and for how long. We built the product so that most of it collects nothing at all — the sections below explain exactly where that's true and where it isn't.

1. Data by tool

What we do with your files depends entirely on which tool you use:

  • Merge, Split, Rotate: processed entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your files are never transmitted anywhere, never uploaded, and never seen by us. We have no technical ability to access them.
  • Compress, PDF-to-Word: your file is uploaded over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our server, processed, returned to you, and deleted immediately afterwards. We do not keep copies, back them up, or use them for any purpose beyond producing your result.

2. Other data we collect

  • Server logs: for the two server-side tools, our infrastructure transiently sees your IP address and browser type, standard for any web request, used only for rate-limiting abuse and basic operational logging.
  • Analytics: if enabled, we use Plausible, a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. It reports aggregate, anonymous statistics (e.g. which tool was used) — never anything tied to an individual visitor or file.

We do not require an account, so we do not collect names, emails, or passwords.

3. Legal basis for processing

Where processing occurs (the two server-side tools), our legal basis is the performance of the service you explicitly requested by uploading a file — a legitimate interest in providing the tool you asked for, held only for the seconds it takes to process your request.

4. Data recipients

We do not sell, rent, or share your files or data with third parties. Server-side processing happens on infrastructure we operate; we do not use third-party conversion APIs for these tools. We may disclose information if legally compelled to do so.

5. Data security

All traffic to the site and its API is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Server-side tool uploads are processed in an isolated, per-request working directory that is deleted immediately after your result is returned — there is no persistent file storage to breach.

6. Data retention

Client-side tools: nothing is ever collected, so nothing is retained. Server-side tools: your file exists on our server only for the duration of the request and is deleted immediately afterwards, success or failure.

7. Third-party sites

Our pages may link to third-party sites (for example, when recommending a tool for a task outside our scope). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we don't operate.

8. Your rights

Since we don't hold accounts or personal profiles, there is generally nothing of yours to access, correct, or delete beyond standard web logs. Where applicable under GDPR or similar law, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. Contact us using the details below to exercise any of these.

9. Children's privacy

This service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
